2012 has brought a huge number of changes to our DUI laws.

Home detention may be available after 20% of your sentence is served instead of the minimum 15 days that were required before January 1st.

Courts now have the ability to reduce jail to 20% of the entire sentence if you agree to continuous alcohol monitoring (an ankle or wrist bracelet that monitors your sweat for traces of alcohol).

These are just two of the major changes to the DUI laws.  Now, more than ever, you need an experienced attorney to help navigate the complexities of dealing with a DUI charge.

Starting January 1st, 2012 you may no longer be eligible for a Jury Trial on a first offense, non-extreme DUI.  It is critical that you have an attorney who is respected in your community and whose word is trusted by the Judge.

When dealing with a DUI there are a lot of terms and offenses that are thrown around, but how many people really understand what they all mean? Below you will find the answers you need to help you better understand what it means when you have been charged with a drunk driving offense.
